Manure as an opportunity
Few topics in agriculture have been discussed as much in recent years as manure. The reduction of the derogation, the export of fertilizers, ammonia, Natura 2000, etc., have major consequences for the sector and also for its image. It is a turbulent time for the entire industry, where the ones who remain will be the winners.
Ammonia and methane are the key elements in this context. Digestion, and preferably daily manure removal, has a significant positive effect on the emission of both of these elements.
Bio-Line sees manure as an opportunity, a valuable raw material that is scarce in many parts of the world. We use manure as a source of gas, but also as a raw material from which valuable minerals are extracted for the benefit of both farmers and nature. It remains unclear how the manure market will evolve in the coming years.
At Bio-Line, as manure specialists, we are actively developing various innovations, with the nitrogen stripper Bio-NP being the most notable. Ultimately, we expect that developments worldwide will increasingly move toward circular agriculture.
We see three components in circular agriculture:
1. A circular agriculture system operates with less use of synthetic fertilizers.
2. The import of protein-rich feed, such as soy, will decrease.
3. The production of sustainable energy must play a role.
We believe it is possible to combine these three elements and thus close the loop. A nitrogen stripper can make the new policy achievable. That’s why we developed the Bio-NP!
